An Internet Pioneer Moves Ever More Deeply into its Second Decade!

NewWork News celebrated its twelfth anniversary on Wednesday, January 2, 2008. It began on Tuesday, January 2, 1996 with a story about AT&T's decision to lay off 40,000 workers. Author and lecturer Gary Johnson has surveyed events and provided frequent analysis during more than 4,300 mornings, and all of the tens of thousands of daily NewWork News briefs over a tumultuous dozen years are archived on the BNWW site.

During the past twelve years, websites have come and gone like fireflies. However, Yahoo!, eBay, Amazon.com, and BraveNewWorkWorld & NewWork News, all of which were founded in 1995, have operated continuously since their beginning. All are still here; all are stronger than ever; all dominate their respective categories.

BraveNewWorkWorld started with original articles and reviews in October 1995 and immediately began attracting the attention of the Washington Post, USA Today, Fast Company, the University of California, Berkeley, Rutgers University, the Australian Financial Times, NBC News, CNN, the New York Times, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, San Francisco Public Television, the Wall Street Journal, and hundreds of other publications, universities, libraries, professional associations, and other organizations over the English-speaking world and beyond.

Over all these years, BNWW has been referred to by various labels, including "ezine," "portal," and, more recently, "blog," although none of these seems particularly accurate. We intend to continue, and our NewWorld Trends "virtual think tank" ABOUT the 21st century will have its own separate web site.
