Tens of millions of Americans are employed by small business, and, for years, small business has been creating most of the new jobs, as major business has been restructuring and downsizing. Moreover, an increasing number of Americans have been starting their own businesses, particularly women. The Bloomberg Small Business site offers tips, video interviews, and much more for persons who either run their own businesses or are thinking of starting a new one.

What would Germany be without the Deutsche mark, France without the franc, Italy without the lira? Well, Germany, France, and Italy, respectively, probably, but we'll soon see. What some thought would never happen appears to be about to happen. Several major European countries are about to give up the local currencies which have been a part of their national identities throughout the modern period and adopt the euro. The Dismal Scientist is an excellent site, however, containing much information and many thoughts and ideas from leading economists, as well as summaries of current statistics. Incidentally, would NASA say "there's no free launch?"
