Dr. Shatkin has been working in the field of career information for over 25 years and has been Senior Product Developer at JIST Publishing since 2005. For JIST he has written or collaborated on numerous books and assessments, such as 50 Best Jobs for Your Personality and 90-Minute College Major Matcher.

He is also founder and proprieter of Verbal Media, LLC, an international consulting firm that specializes in career information. Formerly, he served as Development Scientist at Educational Testing Service, where he played a key role in the further development of the Educational Testing Service's SIGI Plus computerized career guidance system found in many North American university career centers.

Among many other things, Dr. Shatkin wrote a review for us of Workforce 2020 by Richard W. Judy and Carol D'Amico, published in 1997. He also was a respondent to Gary Johnson's speech at the global Workforce 2020 conference conducted by the Hudson Institute in Indianapolis in 1998.

Incidentally, Dr. Shatkin has appeared on national television recently, as well as elsewhere on the Web. In addition to being one of our regular columnists, he also writes a blog for Fast Company magazine, and, of course, is a leading author of books in the career field.
